Do I Have to Pay for This?

Nope. Since MacOpener is a decent chunk of change, charging for EphPod would be excessive. EphPod was initially written for me, and has since then become a fairly fun hobby. Plus, the community that builds around free software is much more vibrant and fun than those around shareware or commercial software.
