Configuration - Regular Options
To get into the Configuration screens, just click the "Configure EphPod" button on the Main Screen or choose "Configuration" in the iPod Tools Menu. Below is a screen shot of the Regular Options Configuration and an explanation of the various things you can do on this screen. If you want to see the other options screens, just click on the tabs in the picture.

Prefix for Album Playlists - When you create "Playlists by Album" by using either the right-click menu in the Song View or by using the option in the Playlists Menu, whatever text you put in this box will be used to make the Playlist list. So if you put "ALBUM - " as the text in this box, then your created playlists would look like: "ALBUM - Gold" and "ALBUM - Crossroads". You can leave this blank if you prefer to have your Album Playlists look like your other playlists.
Prefix for Genre Playlists - When you create "Playlists by Genre" by using either the right-click menu in the Song View or by using the option in the Playlists Menu, whatever text you put in this box will be used to make the Genre list. So if you put "GEN: " as the text in this box, then your created playlists would look like: "GEN: Gold" and "GEN: Crossroads". You can leave this blank if you prefer to have your Genre Playlists look like your other playlists.
Display Grid lines in Song Grid - Self-explanatory.
Attempt to Read ID3v2 Tags - If this is checked, when adding songs to the iPod, EphPod will first look for ID3v2 tags, then ID3v1 tags, and finally will either use the directory structure (if you have that option checked) or will prompt you for the song information. If this is not checked, then EphPod will check ID3v1, then will use directory structure or prompt for song information. If you don't understand a word of what is written here, trying reading About ID3 Tags.
Use Artist Name in Auto-Generated Playlists - When you create "Playlists by Album", if this is checked, EphPod will add the Artist name in parentheses after the playlist name. (e.g., "ALBUM - Gold (Ryan Adams)" and "ALBUM - Crossroads (Eric Clapton)").
Suggest Track Number for MP3s without tags - If you are not using the directory structure for song information option, and you are adding a song that does not have ID3 tags, then if this option is checked, EphPod will try to guess the track number of the song. You will have a chance to change that track number before saving that information to the iPod. If this option is unchecked, then EphPod will recommend the track number 0 for all songs added without tags (and again, you can change this before sending the song to the iPod).
Include Track Number in FileName when Copying - When using the Copy To Folder option (which allows you to copy files from the iPod to any folder on your computer), if this option is checked, the track number will be used in creating the filename (i.e. 01 - Pain Lies on the Riverside.mp3). If not, just the title of the song will be used in creating the filename.
Include Year (taken from ID3 tag) in Song Title - When adding songs to the iPod, if this option is checked, the year will be appended to the end of the Song Title, in parentheses. (i.e. "Anna Begins (1992)")
Follow Shortcuts in Directories - When using the Drag and Drop, Add Songs from Directory and Synchronize options, if this option is checked, EphPod will follow shortcuts (to files and directories).
Save ID3 Tags when Using Shortcut Keys (F2-F6) - When using the F2-F6 "Quick edit" functions in the Song View, if this option is checked, the changes made to the iPod's database will also be written to the individual MP3 files on the iPod. This is useful because it will allow you to Rebuild the Database precisely. However, it does make EphPod run a bit more slowly when you use the Quick edit functions. If you don't understand a word of what is written here, trying reading About ID3 Tags.
Select iPod Drive - If you selected the incorrect drive in the EphPod wizard, or you have another iPod hooked up as another drive, or you want to pretend your main hard is an iPod, you can change it here. You can either opt to have the change take place after you quit EphPod, or immediately (EphPod will reload the database from the newly selected drive).
